1978 Ibanez Artist 2605 Jumbo acoustic guitar in great shape, with just some small dings here and there (see pictures).
This vintage 1978 Ibanez Artist 2605 is in 100% original shape and a Fishman Ellipse VT pickup installed. This is a Post law-suit era J-200 style guitar . This high quality made in Japan Ibanez features a script Ibanez logo on both the headstock and the label, and is in near perfect condition. This guitar exhibits no cracks, no breaks, and no repairs. The Artist 2605 acoustic features: a solid spruce top with a gorgeous Cherry Sunburst finish, selected maple back and sides, a solid maple neck, rosewood fretboard with pearl star cutout inlays, a rosewood bridge with pearl inlays, an original chrome plated “Star” sticker Smooth-Tuner machine heads, a black pickguard with a floral-inspired inlay, and a fancy marquetry that runs down the back. The neck is very narrow with medium frets, much like that of an electric, however the frets are still in very excellent condition, exhibiting expected fret wear on the first 7 frets. The guitar has very low action, and the guitar plays amazingly well. Ibanez has always made high quality guitars, but they are best known for the premium guitars produced during the pre-lawsuit and lawsuit era during the mid to late 70’s. This example was made just after those featuring the Gibson headstock shape. This 2605 is quite rare, as Ibanez produced more electric guitars in the Artist Series than acoustic. This guitar has held up extremely well over the years.
